self-portraits i've been missing
my friends

lately i've been feeling so trapped, like a bird caught in a cage, my free, wild spirit can't live properly as it pleases and I get frustrated. sometimes i feel as though i haven't been doing things for myself but rather, for others. it has been quite a challenge to discern what it is that i really want to do from what others want me to do. also, i wonder about some people i come across, i wonder if they've forgotten what it is like to be young? to feel so deeply and passionately, whether for a person or a place or just something they like to do, for the most fleeting moment or for months or years. i'd never really like to forget this youth vitality.
i promised myself that i will do what i love and love what i do and create a path of my own.  i want to live for myself and i want live to be different. i realize it won't be easy - nothing is ever really easy anymore but i will feel alive. to feel alive is what i want more than anything in life because i will be happy.

"I believe there is no part of our lives, our adult as well as child life, when we're not fantasizing, but we prefer to relegate fantasy to children, as though it were some tomfoolery only fit for the immature minds of the young. Children do live in fantasy and reality; they move back and forth very easily in a way we no longer remember how to do."

You look beautiful with your nose piercing! I wouldn't say it's bad doing things for others, but you must also remember to do things for yourself. I've had an experience like this before, where I didn't want to be selfish and only care about myself, making myself feel more empty because I forgot how to help myself.

I hope you feel free soon. We never want to feel constantly trapped. It can get a little suffocating for the soul.

:) love a heart felt post. So much depth and truth in your words. I myself felt that way too, quite recently. you really have to remember that you're not living for people. do the things you love and want to do! and people the people who share the same interests as you will help you grow. <3
